Sunday Post (May 10)

Sunday PostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things received, and share news about what is coming up on the blog for the week ahead. To get in on the Sunday funday, see the rules here: Sunday Post Meme.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This past week was interesting, to say the least. My kids are getting well into their book club books, and they have discovered they have FEELS for their books!

It was the funniest thing to see a student come back from the restroom and exclaim, “What? OH MY GOD! Sissy’s PREGNANT!” (Road to Memphis). We then discussed, and they drove me absolutely insane with their discussion of who the father was. They were so engrossed and outraged that they couldn’t keep reading.

I also won a major award, according to one of my sweet babies. On Thursday right after lunch, my principal, AP and the district’s reading specialist rushed my room with balloons and signage a la Publisher’s Clearinghouse to announce that I was accepted into the first cohort in my district for a new initiative we’ll be implementing. My kids had no idea what was going on, but they cheered and applauded anyway…and waited until the principals left to ask…

“Does this mean you’re going to the high school?”

I told them, “No, it just means I have to do a lot more work for no more money.”

  1. While it is not a book, I’m having similar experience as my sister watches the first half of Outlander. She, like myself, is a fan of the books. She also doesn’t have cable nor does she have a friend nearby with Starz like I do. I get texts and emails from her as she watches the show on DVD. Amazingly enough her hubby is hooked now. 🙂

    Have a great week!
