Sunday Post (June 15)

Sunday PostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things received, and share news about what is coming up on the blog for the week ahead. To get in on the Sunday funday, see the rules here: Sunday Post Meme.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

First week out of school for summer! Monday morning and sleeping til 8:15 was wonderful!

I started The Summer of Me program on Wednesday. My plan is to go to the gym each morning, swim in the afternoons, and walk at night to lose the 50+ pounds I have gained since finding out definitely that I did not have cervical cancer. I lost the weight right around the time I first found out and started the monitoring process, due to that and several other extremely high-stress situations.

I also went to one of my summer professional development workshops for two days, at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. I will be sharing about that in an upcoming post. 🙂

New Arrivals to Land of 1000 Wonder

Remember last week I talked about going NetGalley crazy? Well, those rejection emails keep rolling in! YAY? … However, I am still nabbing some really good books, and one of my many secondary goals this year is to read and review the majority of the books I have requested and received from NetGalley. I am seriously on book overload, and now the OCDness that comes and goes has set in. I have to clean out that Kindle!

This week I received this pretty puppy in the mail, that I bought with one of my giveaway gift cards!

I also received my copy of Finding Fuzzy from author Cat Michaels for winning the book’s giveaway over at Mother Daughter (& Son) Book Reviews.  Cat even signed my copy and wrote a wonderful note to me!

I also was the winner of the Orenda giveaway a few weeks back, and my necklace finally came this week! Not only did author Ruth Silver provide small book charms of covers, but she also SIGNED each one on the back!

  1. Can’t see the pictures either. As long as you got books you’re about to enjoy, it’s for the best 😉 Have a great week and good luck with the weight loss !

  2. Congrats on winning the book from Cat Michaels. Unfortunately, the photo is not displaying correctly. 🙂

  3. Good luck with your journey! I need to start working out but I’m so so lazy. >< I'll just stick to walking around. 😛 Thank you so much for mentioning me Charlie! Much appreciated. ❤
