Five Year Blogoversary + Giveaway!

Today I’m excited to celebrate my  Five Year Blogoverary! Five years!! Wow!! Where has the time gone?

The day I started blogging I was scared. Y’all, I am a bit worry wart (thanks, Dad). I didn’t want to fail. I started out by sharing reviews with a friend to put on her blog. After a couple of months, I started my own blog in January 2013. I had just graduated college the month before and had some time to figure out how things worked.

I spent little time deciding on my blog name. It was inspired from a fictional place of similar name from a book I read several years ago, Land of a Hundred Wonders. The book was filled with characters I came to love. My first year was rough. I was learning about this whole new world and then I was a teacher! I lived at my school (and I still do), so I had to step away from my blog that first year. When 2014 hit I had a little bit better handle on things and I started coming back.

Since then there have been so many great books that have come along. NetGalley helped out there, and I’m still paying the price, but I love that I am auto-approved from a few publishers. I met some really great people and enjoyed so much of my blogging journey. I’ve had to take several hiatuses over the years, but I never considered leaving my blog behind. These past five years have been such a bright spot in my life with my blog.

  1. I’m excited about reading all the amazing new releases this month–Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire, Heart on Fire by Amanda Bouchet, Dark in Death by J.D. Robb and Cast in Deception by Michelle Sagara.

    Happy Blogoversary!

  2. “Tell me something you are excited about or enjoying this month.” I am working through “Star Trek: the Next Generation,” and then (In February? March?) I’ll move on to the next Star Trek series, all to witness all things Borg.

  3. Congratulations on your blogoversary! 5 years is fantastic; you should be proud of your accomplishment. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you through your Sunday Posts and BuJo posts — and your Instagram, too. Hiatuses are understandable; I’ve taken a few unplanned ones myself. But I’m glad you’re still blogging, and glad you plan to keep blogging!

  4. Hmm…nothing really going on this month! Though I did just have 2 signings in the past two weeks! Though for my last one on Thursday an ice storm led me to go home early! I still got to meet the author and say hi and get my books signed but I had to leave before the discussion part!

Though for this year I am SUPER excited to be going back to Disney World! I’m taking me, myself, and I for a week of absolute FUN in October! My favorite time of year! Going to do everything I didn’t get to do 2 summers ago when it was too hot and my ride was ready before I was. But that’s still over 9 months away!

Also…HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!! I hope you have many more happy blogging years to come!!

  5. Happy 5th Blogaversary! My 6th is coming up next month. And I too was scared stiff when I first started. So many people offered advice and support and I never looked back:)
I’m looking forward to my brother and mother come down to visit. We have all kinds of plans a few short trips.

  6. I’m excited that my brother-in-law’s wife is due this week to have their first baby, so my kids are finally getting a cousin and my husband will finally be an uncle.

  7. Congratulations on your five year blogging anniversary! So many blogs don’t even make it to the year mark, when you think about it. Hitting five is definitely something to celebrate. I am so glad you took a chance and decided to start blogging. I have enjoyed your posts and getting to know you better. Here’s to many more great years of blogging! I’m actually ahead posts for the moment–something to celebrate. Haha

  8. Happy blogoversary! Congrats! My birthday is this month, and so is my son’s. I’m having a spa morning with my daughter next weekend.

  9. Congrats! This is a great accomplishment and represents so much hard work and dedication. This month, we have two birthdays to celebrate, I won first place today for our library’s sponsored essay contest on “My vision for a unified nation,” and my wedding anniversary is this Thursday. We have much to be grateful for here in my family.
