Sunday Post ~ The Easy & Scary Week

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It is a weekly news post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase the books and other goodies you’ve received, and share news about upcoming events on your blog. I am still on a bullet journal organization kick. I bought some things to help me make it easier to transport all of it back and forth every weekend, but it wasn’t quite working. I went online to buy a colored pencil case and another larger case for my pens and markers. They arrived this week and I am so happy with how things worked out. All I have to do is pick up the big bag and go.

This week was a smooth and easy week. The kids came back on Monday. They took their screener test online and then on Tuesday we went to the library. Wednesday we launched our new unit, Thursday I was writing district assessments, and Friday we finished up their poetry terms. On Friday I had all of my students and all of my partner’s students crammed into my classroom because we were so short on subs. I spent my conference period on the couch in the instructional specialist’s room. Apparently my principal walked in on me sleeping.

But my partner started feeling crazy heartburn and then ended up throwing up constantly. On Thursday her husband took her to the ER and she is in ICU. They are waiting for her body to regulate some things. I went to see her Friday after school and there was no real improvement. She talked for a little bit and then went back to sleep. She can’t eat anything. They won’t even let her have water because she’ll throw it up everywhere. I am really worried about her.

My blog is FIVE years old!! Yesterday was my five year blogoversary and I’m actually doing something for it for once! Help me celebrate by entering the giveaway!

I am reading One True Pairing and then I’ll read Game of Hearts. I spent much of the weekend working in my bullet journal. I still have all those reviews to write. Most of them are NetGalley books, so that will help out my percentage a smidge. Maybe I’ll work on those tomorrow.

  1. I love the case. I have all my pencils and pens in a cute case that I carry around with my planner. I don’t bullet journal but I have a planner that has a few pages in it so I use that for some fun BuJo Stuff.

I hope you didn’t get in trouble for napping. I did that a few times at work but don’t think I got caught. Once I woke myself up because I snored and I had to make it seem like I was just making a noise but wasn’t sleeping lol

I hope you have a great week and HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!!!! ❤ My blog will be 5 year this year also.

  2. I love the idea of bullet journalling but I’m not creative in the slightest, I should make an effort to look into it more though because I’d like to find a better way of organising what I’m doing on my blog. That sounds really worrying about your partner, I really hope she turns a corner soon and starts to feel better. Hope you get some time to relax in the week ahead and that you read some good books.
    Here’s my weekly wrap-up:

  3. I hope your partner is doing better now and recovers soon. I might have to look into a bullet journal. Enjoy the books you are reading and your upcoming week. 🙂

  4. I really like the look of that Pen + Marker case. Where did you find it? I feel like I have all these separate pen packs that I’m hauling everywhere and would love to get everything into one place. Happy Five Year Blogaversay and hope you (and your teaching partner) and a good week ahead 🙂

  5. Happy Five Year Blogoversary fellow BuJoer! I’m always happy to find other book blogger that like to bullet journal and you seem to be into the pens and markers too! yay! I LOVE THAT CASE!

  6. I hope your partner gets well soon! I’ll say a prayer for her.

Can’t wait to see your bullet journal posts. I haven’t gotten into that, but I do like using stickers and washi tape on my paper planner for the blog. And colored pens!!!

    Have a great week!

  7. I am enjoying my bullet journal. I tend to work on it right before bed, and I’m not sure that’s the best time for it, but it is proving to be cathartic in its own way.

I am so sorry to hear about your partner. I hope she is feeling better and is back on her feet soon. Otherwise, it sounds like your week got off to a good start.

Happy blog anniversary! Five years is awesome! I hope you have a great week, Charlie. I need to think about getting ready for this birthday party my daughter’s going to.

  8. Oh no that’s terrible about your partner…I’m hoping things get better really soon and the figure out why she’s ill. 😔😔
