Book Blogger Hop ~ Visiting Locations From Books

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week poses a book-related question. The hop starts on Friday and ends on Thursday. The purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers.

Have you ever visited the location of a book you have read? (submitted by La La @ La La in the Library)

I don’t believe I have ever visited a specific location from a book I have read. There was a book I read a couple years ago that was set in Austin, TX. This is the Capitol of Texas and I live only a 30 minute drive and have been in Austin numerous times, but it was a fictionalized book so the specific locations didn’t exist. The same thing with a book set in the Hill Country. I have been up and around throughout the Hill Country, and a friend even got married in the Hill Country. The land prices and property taxes are astronomical and the perfect setting for wedding venues.

  1. Oh nice! I’ve never been to Austin myself. I’m going there later this year for a book event though I’m likely not leaving the hotel since I’m going solo. Can’t seem to find anyone to tag along! Oh well. 🙂

  2. I guess I’m kind of a weirdo since I’ve actually planned vacations to places I’ve read about. LOL I’m lucky my hubs is a good sport. 😉

By the way, you won my Rock F*ck Club giveaway. If you could email or DM me your address, I’ll get your signed copy in the mail to you. 😀

  3. Not sure if this counts but I have a read a book that was set in places that I had been or lived in. I know there are some places in books I would to see though!
