Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My TBR the Longest I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. For the list of past topics and future schedule, click here.

Books On My TBR the Longest I Still Haven’t Read

I started reading both Gone with the Wind and The Fiery Cross when I was a sophomore in college. That’s also when I stopped reading them, too, making them the books on my TBR the longest.

Which books are still hanging around your TBR?

  1. I read GWTW in high school, and had mixed feelings about it. (I wanted a happy ending, and I often found myself annoyed at Scarlett.)

If I had listed books that have been on my mental TBR the longest, instead of going by the ones I added to Goodreads when I first joined, it might have included Outlander. Hope you get a chance to read these this year. 🙂

    • I think I only got to chapter 12, and I was annoyed with Scarlett. That might be part of the reason I stopped reading. I have never been good at using Goodreads to add books. I have a list that I never look at. I went off the books I knew I had sitting around the longest. And it was hard for me to remember any more than these ones. That’s probably a bad thing.

  2. I still haven’t read Gone With The Wind. LOL Now I’m curious and will check to see what books has been on my TBR the longest.

  3. I haven’t read any of these. I selected ten that might be the oldest on my shelf, but it’s really hard for me to tell since I was not good about keeping track all those years ago. I just know there are too many unread books sitting and collecting dust on my shelf. Which reminds me, I need to dust. I hope you get to these at some point, Charlie. But if you are anything like me, it might be awhile yet . . .
