My Favorite… Thing About Fall

My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive.

Favorite Thing About Fall

Fall here is not what most people imagine when they think fall. I think the quintessential New England town and weather. Fall in Texas is still hot. You might wear a light (or heavy) coat, long sleeved layers, and a beautiful pair of tall boots on a fall day in Texas, and by 11:30 that morning you’ll be sweating. My favorite thing about fall are the days when the mornings start out cool and the day stays cool – no need to pack yourself a second wardrobe for the afternoon.

What is your favorite thing about fall?

  1. Yeah, I don’t miss Texas weather – in any season. I’ve been in Colorado for almost 20 years and I love falls here. The aspens turn a beautiful gold, the grasses turn red and gold and the air is crisp and cool. *sigh* Of course, I’ve already had snow twice and it’s barely fall! LOL But I love that too. 🙂

  2. We don’t have season here but I always think that I would enjoy Fall and I would like to see snow someday though I don’t like the cold. What you said about changing wardrobes is interesting. When does that happen? Summer?

    • I would be OK if it was fall weather all year round! I don’t like the cold much either. So this time of year it is extremely cool in the mornings, and as we get closer to December it should get colder to the point you are wearing winter clothes and heavy jackets. But by about 11 am, the sun is out and shining and the temperature has risen 20 some odd degrees. By the time we get out of school at 4 pm, you’re sweating bullets in that heavy winter wear. It’s a pain in the butt and I guess I get hotter more easily and it’s just miserable.

  3. I love the cooler weather. We’ve been warmer than usual this past week (mid-70s), but cooling down this week (50s and 60s). I love it!
