Book Blogger Hop ~ 8.25.17

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week poses a book-related question. The hop starts on Friday and ends on Thursday. The purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers.

Have you ever read a book written in a foreign language you might be fluent in, and then read the same book in English? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

I am not fluent in any other language. I took 5 years of Spanish from middle to high school and I was fluent then, but it is true that if you don’t use it, you lose it. I have always been able to read and write better due to processing time, and now I can read a little. It’s nowhere close to what it used to be, though.

  1. I know what you are saying. I took four years of high school Spanish and two years of college Spanish. Twenty years later, I don’t even remember how to conjugate a verb.

  2. It’s been the same with me, I’m afraid. I studied Spanish in high school and college, but remember so little of it now after years of not using it. I hope you have a great weekend, Charlie!

  3. I took Spanish in high school and college, but I don’t remember most of it. I definitely couldn’t read a book written in Spanish.
