Cover Characteristics: Perfume

Cover Characteristics2

This is a new meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. It came about when Sugar was wondering which cover to use for her #70 Cover of the Week post. Sugar kept on thinking of more than one, and they all seemed to have a theme/characteristic. So she decided to switch things up a bit!

Each week we will post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite covers with that characteristic. If you want to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the week’s particular characteristic, then just make a post, grab the meme picture (or make your own) and leave your URL in Linky (so we can visit). You don’t even need to participate, just stopping by and saying hi would be great! Don’t forget to stop by the other participants!

I grew up seeing my mother and my grandmother’s perfume bottles. My grandmother wore White Diamonds and Charlie, and my mother wore Charlie…ironic, given my name, no? When I was in college, I found perfume by my mother’s name – and spelled correctly, which is not very easy. I was astounded by my find, and of course had to buy it. My mother cried when I gave it to her. Some of my favorite memories are watching my mother and grandmother pull out their bottle of perfume for a special occasion and spritzing it on. I will never forget those smells.

  1. That’s so sweet about the perfume with your mother’s name. I’ve always been fascinated by perfume and scent and love the perfume covers! There’s something almost mythical looking about them. I think The Book of Lost Fragrances cover is my favorite.
