Book Blogger Hop #14

book-blogger-hop

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week poses a book-related question. The hop starts on Friday and ends on Thursday. The purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers.

Do you visit every listed blog in the linky list when you are participating in a meme? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I try to visit every blog in the linky for my memes I participate in each week. The only exceptions are the two bigger ones, The Sunday Post and Top Ten Tuesday. I think I visited everyone on The Sunday Post last year. It took forever. Top Ten Tuesday is out of the question because there are HUNDREDS of people. Lately I haven’t been able to get around to commenting as much, and now that UIL is over and the yearbook will soon be 100% due I am hoping to have a lot of personal time back.

  1. I always reply to everyone’s blog in the Blog Hop and in small memes, and I TRY to visit every blog on large ones. I don’t always leave a comment.

It is such fun seeing answers and looking at other blogs.

Nice to see you on the Blog Hop!!

ENJOY your weekend, and Happy Hopping!!

  2. I haven’t participated in a meme as big as the ones you mention in a while. My strategy for those was to click randomly and pick the ones most recently added. But I’m thankful this hop is on the smaller size. Visiting everyone is more doable!

  3. Oh my goodness, top ten is insane! I usually click through to all of the blogs before my link there, and then a few randoms afterwards.

  4. Yeah, those two memes are DEFINITELY daunting! I did join “The Sunday Post” meme three times. However, when I saw that there are usually about NINETY blogs participating every week, I felt totally hopeless! Lol. I bravely went and commented on several blogs, nevertheless……only to get no comments in return. Some people, like Greg @ Book Haven, did comment back. So did Kimba, the meme host, and a couple of other participants. That was about it. So I just stopped participating. What’s the point?

The Book Blogger Hop is MUCH more manageable! But, as you know from my answer to this week’s question, I don’t visit and comment on every single blog. I’ve been burned in the past — I haven’t gotten comments back from all the blogs I commented on. So now I just wait to get comments first. Then I visit those blogs and comment back. I make every effort to do this, too, even if I don’t have the time to comment back on the very same day! 🙂

Thanks so much for leaving such a thoughtful comment on my BBH post!! Hope you’re having a great Saturday!! ❤ ❤ 🙂 🙂

    • They are daunting. After my engagement ended a few years ago, I had to ask myself how much time I really wanted to be tied to my computer. While it is definitely NOT excusing what my fiance did, I know that when things started to go south I buried myself in my reading and my blog. That’s what I do due to some things that happened during my childhood. It is a hard balancing act. The more you comment, (hopefully) the more comments you get. At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Eventually that will become unmanageable. So I like where I am and how I do right now, although most times it is one or two days a week that I have time to sit down and catch up. The waiting until you get a comment strategy might actually work for me, too. I’ll have to make a conscious effort to do it. Thanks for visiting, Maria!

  5. We do the best we can, don’t we? I try to comment on every post linked to a meme on the smaller ones too, but even that can be tough sometimes, depending on what’s going on–just as you mentioned. And yes, those bigger memes! I just cannot make it to everyone. I think we pretty much agree on this topic, Charlie. 🙂

I hope you are having a good weekend!
