What are you currently reading?
I so wanted to finish reading King of the Friend Zone last night, but it just didn’t happen. If I had finished it, I would have met my reading goal I set for February, which was to read 5 books before the month was over. I came SO close…so I think I’m going to modify my March goal to be “start 5 books.” That works, right?
Tomorrow my students and I will finish reading chapter 13 of The Phantom Tollbooth and then we will have to do all of our packet work, which usually takes two days. Since I’ve never read the book before, I looked it up and it does make Sparknotes. There are 20 chapters. I am starting to think we still will not finish reading before spring break. 😦
What did you just finish reading?
I finished reading Chasing Fireflies last week shortly after Wednesday. It was a little weird and off…there were a few lines paragraphs and thoughts or statements made that I just couldn’t get behind and bothered me on a fundamental level. I’ll have to figure out how to sort it all out in my review, but I was disappointed this was a book in the Power of the Matchmaker series. It did not seem to live up to the basic principles of romance and true – TRULY – true love. It was subpar and I feel like the last few chapters reinforced all the wrong things I think young girls and women today fall victim to in relationships. I rated it three stars, but do you think I should rate it two? Sometimes I hate rating books.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I have two Power of the Matchmaker books left and then I am going to squeeze in Audrey Greathouse’s second book in The Neverland Wars series before moving back to clearing up my NetGalley debts.

I’m starting ‘Every Little Thing’ by Samantha Young today! I’m super excited.. I loved the first book in that series and have been waiting for this one forever. 😀
Sorry to hear that Chasing Fireflies was disappointing. I always find it difficult to rate a book when I don’t like it.
