I am now done with the Darling, VT series, so I am moving on to the rest of the Power of the Matchmaker series that I didn’t have the opportunity to finish last year. I haven’t yet started Chasing Fireflies, but I will later today.

My sisters think I’m crazy.

But, I’ve never forgotten the mysterious woman from my childhood who told me Paul is the name of my one true love. She told me to search far and wide for him. I haven’t stopped looking ever since.

When I stumble across an article about a successful American entrepreneur named Paul who lives and works in China, I’m intrigued. When the opportunity to teach English in China presents itself on the same day, I know it’s not a coincidence. It’s destiny.

My sisters say I’m chasing a dream. Just like the fireflies we tried to catch on the warm summer evenings of our youth, the dream seems beyond my grasp. Will my quest for the elusive Paul always be just short of fulfillment?

My sisters tell me it’s a fool’s errand. Until I remind them of the day we saw the Red Bird. The memory silences them. The Red Bird Incident remains inarguable—and proves my search for Paul is not a silly fantasy. I will find Paul . . . I will.

We are picking up steam with The Phantom Tollbooth. Last week we just hit the halfway mark, and we are quickly making for full-steam ahead. My students aren’t going to finish it before the end of the grading period, but we’ll finish it before spring break so they can take their tests.

What did you just finish reading?

I started and finished Sombeody’s Baby. I was impressed that I finished it so quickly, given everything else. I’m not sure if this is the last installment in the Darling, VT series or not. I sure hope not! There are still three Gallagher siblings and a few other townsfolk to go!

I also finished my audiobook of Crows & Cards. I wasn’t prepared for how close I was to the ending. It’s hard to tell when you don’t have physical pages to look at! I met my goal in finishing it before Sunday – I finished it before the week was half over! Since I have reviews piling up, I am holding off on starting another audibook until later in the month when my task list has cleared up a little bit more. I’m hoping to listen to three or four more audiobooks before summer starts. I can’t wait to cross more off my list!

After I finish Somebody’s Baby, I will start on my Power of the Matchmaker books. I know I’ve been saying this for weeks, but I wasn’t expecting to be send all of the Darling, VT series.
