Favorite Humorous Books

I love a good funny read and I think those are the kinds of books that I share the most in meme features like this. Who doesn’t like a funny read?

What are some of your favorite funnies?

  1. Hi Charlie.
I don’t always find ‘humorous ‘ books funny. Humor usually works well when combined with another genre. Biographies are sometimes funny, and cozy mysteries often have a humorous element.
I try to write steampunk/paranormal adventures, but they keep coming out humorous. My initial impresssion of steampunk was that it had to be dark and grim. I quickly found that I was uncomfortable with violence, and kept wanting to use funny names. I gave in and started being silly about halfway through the first book. ‘Whimsical’ is now the primary word of description for my books. 🙂
    Happy Reading!

    • Oh, most of these are a different primary genre that happen to be funny. Except for maybe Pippi! Humorous steampunk would probably work. My first steampunk had some funny moments. Good luck with your writing!
