Blogging Helper Tips

I don’t have that many quick tips to help, but I’ll share what I got!

1. Save a review template.  After my first year of blogging, I realized I was spinning my wheels and wasting time when I sat down to write reviews. So I created a review template. It has all of the category tags that any review would have, and it has the bones of the review in a template form. I can take out anything I don’t want, edit and tweak to fit each review.
2. Stay consistent. Keep a consistent routine on your blog. This helps you keep everything in line and it also helps your readers keep up as well. When things start getting splotchy and inconsistent, you might start feeling a little failure coming on and lack of motivation. It’s like a hole you sometimes can’t dig yourself out of, so why try? At the same time, your readers don’t know what’s going on so their visits start dwindling until they just stop checking in because there’s nothing new. I recommend keeping features to the same day each week so readers know when to come back for the things they enjoy, and it helps you plan out each week.
3. Weekly/Monthly wrap ups. A weekly check-in post allows followers to see what you’re reading, but it also gives you a running record platform. I participate in WWW Wednesdays to keep my weekly reading on target and up to date, and this also helps me write my monthly wrap-up post. And sometimes the little tidbits I share each week as I read help me formulate what I want to say in my reviews.
