Summertime Challenge: Happy Birthday, Twins

This is a summer challenge hosted by Parajunkee. It runs through the month of June and has weekly link-ups.

Happy Birthday to the Twins!

Twins run in my family. They don’t skip generations. There were six children in my mother’s family, the youngest two were twins. Two of the children had twins (my mother and my aunt, in that order). My grandpa joked with my aunt that she was having twins because she was so big at the beginning of her pregnancy…and she did!

There are secret bets on all us grandkids about who will have twins.

Saturday my younger twin cousins, Bird and Bear, aptly named for their personalities, had their 9th birthday party. They turn nine on Saturday. I remember they had to stay at the hospital for so long before they could come home. Those first few summers I went to stay with my aunt and take care of the babies, and later when they were toddlers. Bear got put in time out a lot.

They’ve grown so big and changed in so many ways since this photo was snapped nine years ago…
