Websites I Love to Lurk
I’ll admit it. I have become more of a recluse in my actual life as well as my online life. I do not feel as vested or interested in commenting on people’s posts like I used to. Oftentimes, I provide a differing viewpoint because I am an educator and I don’t agree with the prevalent parenting methods nor the self-helpless victimization cycle. (For example, I know someone who only posts about their problems and asks what they should do but NEVER follows it. Kid bullied at school, ask for advice, tons of people give it, I give the right way to talk to principal and how to handle, does none of those things.) I am also not a supporter of many people’s personal political fronts and would offend many. So rather than sharing my opinions or even commenting on things I have in common with another person, I choose to simply like their photos or posts and just check in daily otherwise.
NetGalley
Do I really have to explain this one? I mean, books!
Goodreads
This one isn’t a shocker, either. I’m sure a lot of my browser history is from Goodreads.
That’s pretty much it, unless my gradebook counts!
I don’t know how I forgot to put NetGalley on my list! or Instagram, for that matter. Book pictures 🙂

Same here regarding Facebook. I’m on there to keep up with some friends and family since we’re scattered around the world. But it usually makes me more angry than not reading certain things that pop up so I try to stay off it all together.

Yes, I have a relative who always seems to make me mad with what is posted. It’s not political or religious, it’s things like asking for someone to bring her lunch or watch her kids that day (almost daily). It just gets old.
I feel like I don’t take full advantage of Goodreads. I use it to log the books I read but I don’t do much further exploration. I should.
That’s pretty much how I use it, too. Although I do use it sometimes for quotes or to look at lists, but I haven’t even maintained my shelves in the last year-ish like I said I would. I just don’t use it for that.
