Cover Characteristics: Only the Backs (of People)

Cover Characteristics2

This is a new meme hosted by Sugar & Snark. It came about when Sugar was wondering which cover to use for her #70 Cover of the Week post. Sugar kept on thinking of more than one, and they all seemed to have a theme/characteristic. So she decided to switch things up a bit!

Each week we will post a characteristic and choose 5 of our favorite covers with that characteristic. If you want to join in and share your 5 favorite covers with the weeks particular characteristic, then just make a post, grab the meme picture (or make your own) and leave your URL in Linky (so we can visit). You don’t even need to participate, just stopping by and saying hi would be great! Don’t forget to stop by the other participants!

Today’s Cover Characteristic: Only the Backs (of People)

I realized after searching for books for this week’s cover that two of my often-read authors feature the backs of people almost exclusively on all of their covers. If you pull up all of Elin Hilderbrand and Kristin Hannah’s book covers, you’ll find that they are very similar and they nearly always have people walking away on the cover.

  1. Silver Girl and Homefront are nice, but so is Winter Garden and Barefoot. I think I’m drawn to beach covers for some reason lol. Girls in trucks is nice though too.

    • I am definitely drawn to beach covers. The first two years of college I told my best friend we were going to pick a beach town, move there, live and work there all summer. It was the best kind of dream that didn’t end up happening, but I have no doubt that I would not mind one bit living on the beach.
