What are you currently reading?
I’ve put Code Name Verity for on hold for the moment. Even though it’s an audiobook, I’m not finding the right time to finish listening. Hopefully this weekend I will polish it off and have the review written.
I also started reading the next book in The Toucan Trilogy: Colony East. The first book ended a little flatly for me, so I am hoping the second book makes up for that. I loved the first book – it had a little bit of everything going on and it touched on my emotions several times.
When Abby’s little sister, Toucan, contracts a new, deadly illness spreading among the survivors, they go on a dangerous journey to Colony East, an enclave of scientists caring for a small group of children.
Abby fears that time is running short for Touk, but she soon learns that time is running out for everyone outside Colony East.
What did you just finish reading?
I finished the March Power of the Matchmaker book, If We Were a Movie. It was spectacular. It didn’t follow suit as the first two in the series, and I thought that this would be the story where Pearl failed as a matchmaker. It was down to the wire and things got super crazy – like, psycho crazy. Such a good ending. I was dying for Nate to stick it to a few particular people, and it happened! Ahhh, sweet justice!
What do you think you’ll read next?
I can’t wait to get started on these new books! I’ve been wanting to read them for a month now, and I am finally making a little progress. A Buss from Lafayette is an upcoming review book, and I’m working to get The Money Tree off of my backlog. The others are a split between NetGalley choices and some freebies.
How about you? What are you reading this week?
I think there’s something wrong with me. I hear a term like “Deadly illness” and I perk up and get all interested. LOL! My WWW.
Code Name Verity…amazing. Can’t wait to see your review!
