What are you currently reading?
I started reading the first few chapters of The Sound of the Stones. This will be a review for January.
The ancient book about the past holds the key to the future. Frankie is the key.
She doesn’t remember stopping at the used bookstore, but there she stands as if drawn by an unseen force. Anticipation wraps around her like a cocoon. When she opens the door, the wind nudges her through, and expectancy turns to purpose. The man inside, and the book he offers, changes everything. Unusual things happen when she begins to read:
In a time long forgotten, people are held captive by half human creatures. Ashra holds a secret close to her heart, and must discover the purpose of her gift before the oppressed human race is destroyed. An unlikely ally comes to her aid. Strangers bring her a message from a far off land. Ashra and her band of misfits set off in search of answers. Together, they find love, uncover mysteries from the past, face ever present danger, and hone powers they never knew they had.
Frankie and Ashra are separated by millennia, by fiction and reality, but in the end the barrier shatters.
What did you just finish reading?
I read a lot this past week. Or rather, I stayed up all night one night and read two books. All of them are really good! The theme apparently was mysteries…
On Thin Icing and Level Up will both review in January, on back-to-back days the first week.
The Frankie Duponts I have already reviewed here and here.
What do you think you’ll read next?
All of these are January reads. The first two are for tours on back-to-back days, so I will be working like crazy to get them read and reviewed quickly this week. My aim is to read a book a day.
How about you? What are you reading this week?
I’ll be looking out for your reviews of On Thin Icing and Level Up in January – they both look like fun reads.
Here’s my WWW: https://clairehuston.wordpress.com/2015/12/23/www-wednesday-23rd-december-2015/
They were both really good! Keep your eyes peeled January 4 & 5.
Level up is a fun cover! My WWW
The cover matches the characters. I was surprised with such a large cast of characters that it would impeded the plot, but that wasn’t the case at all! I loved The Girls and The Geeks, as I dubbed them.
And again, I haven’t heard of any of these books but I hope you’ll enjoy them. Happy reading! https://ireadboooks.wordpress.com/2015/12/23/www-wednesday-december-23-2015/
I feel like that a lot, too, when I look at other people’s posts! Rest assured, they are both good books!
I love the cover for Feast of Fates! Here’s my post for the week. Happy reading!
It is interesting! Thanks for stopping in!
I like the sound of The Sound Of The Stones and Feast Of Fates looks great as well!
Happy Wednesday! Here’s my WWW.
Bookstore is what got me!
Night of the Purple Moon is a fabulous read! I still need to read the last book in the series. Hopefully soon!
Yay! I have been putting this one off since my first year of blogging, so I’m excited to clear it out!
‘Level Up’ looks really cute, I hope it was enjoyable! Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
I hope you enjoyed On Thin Icing! I’ve been thinking of reading that series. . . if I can ever find the time to squeeze it in.
It is very good, and I’ve found as the series continues, the MC Jules grows a lot. It’s like peeling away new layers to her. There are so many fun, interesting characters!
That’s good. So often with cozies, the MC seems to be static and the secondary characters are more like caricatures or cardboard cutouts. It makes me really appreciate the books where the characters are real, rounded people who change and grow.
