WWW Wednesdays (February 11)

This is a weekly meme hosted by MizB @ Should Be Reading. To join in, click on the image above, and answer these three questions:

What are you currently reading?

23603092I am loving Just Pru so far! Pru is so different. She reminds me in a lot of ways of a friend of mine from high school and college.

For Pru, it’s one day at a time, daily phone calls to her highly critical parents, and living life after the death of her wonderful therapist.

Pru’s narration cracks me up. Needless to say, Anne Pfeffer has done it again. I can’t wait to finish the book and see what Pru gets into, and out of!

What did you just finish reading?

23596104I fell in absolute love with Suzy and Billy in this thought-provoking, dramatic and humorous YA book. These two 12 year-olds have a lot on their hands, to say the least!

The way the book opens with Suzy describing Billy and all of the events…his mother…his brother…the gnomes… I loved the intricacy and nuances in the book, the flaws in the characters.

I could relate to Billy in a lot of ways in terms of his personal life, and the way Suzy described his life from an outsider’s point of view (an outsider that clearly cares!) was beautiful and a bit heartbreaking.

You can read my review from earlier in the week here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

It’s the last book in the series, and I am championing Charlotte and Angus. After The Husband Maker, I was quite pissed with Angus for how he treated Charlotte because of his sudden realizations…which a small, tiny part somewhere in me kept whispering all along, to be shushed by the logical, domineering part of me that kept saying, “No, like bros!”

I know that no matter what happens in this final book, I am going to cry for Charlotte. I already know, and I’m OK with that.

How about you? What are you reading this week?
