Does he make the NICE list this year?

***** Review *****

This is a quick read for young ones. Each page rhymes, and most of them end with the line about the tattling. Young readers can quickly figure out who the tattler is based on who else is always in the picture.

In the short picture book, Gus realizes the error of his ways and warns readers to be good..and in the end the tattle-teller ends up sharing his fate as well! It is a good way to teach young children to be appreciative and kind to others (or face a similar fate at the hands of karma).

I loved the depictions of Gus. On each page he seemed a hot disheveled mess, followed around by some gross stuff. Each time he got into trouble with an adult he had this bashful “whoops!” look on his face that cracked me up. Classic kid in trouble look.

  1. I like the title of this book. It intrigued me to read the review. Great review. I agree with your bio; it is important to read to children and instill the love of literacy. Children that are read to and learn to read have more opportunities. 🙂 I came her via Booknificent Thursdays. 🙂
