Sunday Post (August 3)

Sunday PostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things received, and share news about what is coming up on the blog for the week ahead. To get in on the Sunday funday, see the rules here: Sunday Post Meme.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Y’all, I can still not get my sleeping back on schedule. I sit here updating this post at 4 AM after finishing two books back-to-back, taking a shower and leaving in the deep conditioner, with a cucumber peel masque on my face and my off-brand Crest strips on my teefies. I suppose it is ZzzQuil for me every night until my body catches on.

This week it was back to the school groove. I had professional development the first two days of the week and learned some wonderful writing activities and strategies. My phone would not work at all even though my service carrier verified I was near plenty of towers and showing up on their map, and had bars on my phone. 😦 It was frustrating and for the first time in I can’t even remember when, I went home and just crawled into bed for 5 minutes, and then listened to music to decompress. My car had to go into the shop to get fixed and once again my insurance company acted like an ass. Hello, USAA.

I was very annoyed that I gave regular manicures a shot again, and five minutes later when I was in the grocery store, this happened! Shellac it is, forevermore! And on Thursday my computer went kaput! I could not log in to my computer at all. I tried fixing it, but if I screwed something up it was game over, so I took it to get fixed, and four hours later I had it back again! The computer guy commended me on my attempt and said I was so close to fixing it, but to never do that again!

And here is a really cute shot I snapped of Baby before she jetted. I swear, I get a phone in my hand and she knows! You’d think I was the paparazzi or something. Sheesh.

This week I created an account with Edelweiss! I only requested a few books that looked really interesting to me, but I think I may need a navigational tour. I found it a little confusing. I also requested a handful of books from NetGalley, a few pictured below.

The weekly meme Top Ten Tuesday (hosted by The Broke and the Bookish) for this week was the top ten authors you own on your shelves. It was interesting seeing which authors people favored!

Did you hear? A book blog that only features book tours is a violation of WordPress terms of service. Find out more here.

  1. What a week you’ve had! I can relate to your manicure woes. I got my nails done with my sister-in-law a few years ago. The polish chipped off one entire nail the next day. Her nails looked great for weeks. I have no idea what the deal is! It’s not like I’m dipping my hands in chemicals all day! I love the book benches and the Mary Poppins may replace my current favorite which was the Agatha Christie. The Malaval book looks really good. Hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!

  2. Did my nails yesterday, so far, so good ! (fingers crossed, it will still look good tomorrow). I just love the look Baby gives, great pic ! Have a nice week 😉
